We are seeking to appoint a talented, dedicated, enthusiastic and inspirational teacher of humanities to join a dedicated department of specialist teachers. This post is open to experienced teachers or ECTs looking to start their career in a caring and supportive school with close ties to training and induction providers.   We are focused on getting the right person for the role irrespective of their career stage. 

At The Clere School, an 11-16 Comprehensive, we are fortunate to serve wonderful, friendly, and polite students with supportive parents and governors.   We have a uniquely small but growing secondary school, with numbers joining us each September increasing year on year.  Our school provides a nurturing but achievement focused community for our students.  Our school ethos and philosophy are embodied by The Clere Way; Integrity, Community and Respect.  The school is in an idyllic rural location, a short journey from the A34, convenient for local candidates and commuters.   

The successful candidate will: 

  • be a versatile specialist in Geography with the ability to work across other humanity subjects
  • be positive and enthusiastic
  • be a reflective practitioner who is dedicated to continuous improvement
  • be passionate about their subject and able to inspire and motivate young people
  • demonstrate real enthusiasm for teaching humanities
  • be forward-thinking, adaptable, open and responsive to feedback and up to date with the latest thinking about learning and teaching
  • be calm and assertive in managing behaviour
  • have the highest expectations of themselves and the behaviour and achievement of students
