Job Introduction
Burley Primary School is a small village school set in the idyllic surroundings of the New Forest. We are currenlty advertising for a full time / term time only LSA for KS1/KS2. We are a play based school with a passion for the outdoors.
Purpose of the role:
To work with teachers to support teaching and learning in a key stage 1 / key stage 2 classroom, providing general and specific assistance to pupils and staff under the direction, guidance and direct supervision of the teacher.
Key Responsibilities:
Supporting Pupil Learning: assist students with their learning activities, providing tailored support to help them access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals.
Working with Teachers: collaborate closely with the class teacher to understand students' needs, implement strategies, and monitor progress.
Adapting Materials and Activities: adapt learning materials and activities to meet the individual needs of students, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
Promoting Positive Behavior: help to create a positive and inclusive learning environment, encouraging positive behavior and social interaction among students.
Fostering Independence: work to develop students' independence and self-confidence, encouraging them to take responsibility for their learning and behavior.
Supporting Social and Emotional Development: provide social and emotional support to students, helping them to understand and manage their feelings and interactions.
Record Keeping and Communication: keep records of student progress, communicate with parents and other professionals, and contribute to the planning and evaluation of learning activities.
Safeguarding Responsibilities
To strictly follow the schools policies on child protection and safeguarding.
Report any incidents via the online reporting system.
Report incidents immediately to the Designated Safeguarding Lead.
Other Duties:
May be required to supervise children during break times, lunchtime, or off-site activities.
May be involved in administrative tasks, such as record-keeping and resource management.
