Contract/Hours: 19.5 hours a week, every morning and one afternoon

Job/Person Summary:

Lydlynch Infant School is looking for an enthusiastic, committed and innovative classroom practitioner who is keen to work with children, supporting learning, both emotionally and academically. This is a maternity cover role for the autumn term.

 We are looking for someone who:

  • Has high expectations for behaviour
  • Is patient, positive, calm and caring
  • Has a passion for children's academic and social progress and wellbeing
  • Can support children's social and emotional development and show empathy and understanding
  • Is enthusiastic, self-motivated, creative and able to use their initiative
  • Is committed to working as part of a team that has a 'can do' attitude
  • Understands confidentially and safeguarding
  • Can work alongside the class teacher to deliver learning.

The person we are looking for will: 

  • GCSE or equivalent Grade C (4) or above in Maths and English
  • Be calm, patient and keen to learn
  • Have some experience working with children
  • Have high expectations
  • Demonstrate good communication skills
  • Be committed to working as part of a team
  • Be a good timekeeper and highly organised with good time management skills
  • Ensure the safety and welfare of children at all times and who understands the importance of confidentiality and safeguarding
  • A sense of humour
