KS1 Teacher - Maternity Cover

Job Introduction

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Nightingale Primary School to join our wonderful Key Stage 1 team for the Autumn Term, covering a maternity leave.

We know that a one-term contract may not be the ideal opportunity for everyone, and particularly for Early Career Teachers who are often looking for longer-term stability. However, we genuinely believe this role could be the perfect stepping stone into a rewarding and successful teaching career.

At Nightingale, we have an excellent track record of developing and growing our own teachers. We invest heavily in professional development and are proud of the supportive culture we have created. Our in-house ECT Coach provides bespoke guidance and mentoring, ensuring that teachers at the start of their careers receive the support they need to flourish. Many colleagues who have joined us on temporary contracts have gone on to secure further opportunities within our school and beyond.

Whilst this position is initially for one term, we anticipate that new opportunities may arise in the future, and this role offers an excellent chance to become part of our school community, demonstrate your strengths and gain valuable experience in a highly supportive environment.

We are looking for a passionate, dedicated and enthusiastic teacher who wants to make a difference and continue the excellent progress our children are making.

At Nightingale, we believe in growing great teachers. We are proud of our flexible, skilled teaching team, who work collaboratively to ensure every child thrives. Whether you are at the beginning of your teaching journey or bring a wealth of experience, you'll find a supportive, inspiring environment with plenty of opportunities to learn and develop.

We’d love to hear from you if you are:

Energetic, enthusiastic and a true team player

Naturally positive with a "can do" attitude

Passionate about teaching and committed to delivering the best for every child

It’s worth noting that we are a true Read Write Inc. (RWI) school, with the programme fully embedded across our KS1 practice with fidelity and care. Full training will be provided for the successful candidate.

Above all, you'll share our commitment to our Vision and Values – Respect, Courage, Compassion and Friendship – which underpin everything we do, from pupil progress to playground friendships.

We encourage all applicants to visit our website and discover what makes Nightingale such a special place to work and learn.

If you're ready to inspire to aspire, we'd love to hear from you.
