Job Introduction
We know it’s not the most ideal time of year to look for a new team member but we need you and we need you to be brilliant! Our Year 1 class need stability and continuity and we are looking for that special someone to teach them for the summer term and become a permanent member of our team going forward. They are a fantastic group of 25 children, all keen and enthusiastic about their learning. Our children and teaching team are looking for a team-mate who:
- loves working as a team but can also work on your own initiative
- believes learning should be purposeful and fun
- can think creatively about delivery of learning so that children are engaged and interested
- has high expectations of children and adults you work with (and yourself of course!)
- wants to develop professionally within an experienced staff
We have 165 children in our school and are on an incredible journey. We know the challenges of working in an infant school and have year group partners to work with and plan alongside so that you’re not on your own. We pride ourselves on ensuring our staff get a well thought out programme of CPD and opportunities to work collaboratively.
We realise time is tight between now and the end of term but would welcome an informal chat or a school visit so you can take a look for yourself, please contact the school office who will arrange this. This is a full-time position, however part-time hours will be considered.

The successful candidate will:
- Be an inspirational teacher with the ability to motivate all children
- Be passionate about making a difference to the learning outcomes for every child
- Have high aspirations for all children and believe that every child has the potential to succeed
- Have recent KS1 teaching experience and be knowledgeable in the KS1 curriculum
- Have an understanding of effective assessment strategies including the use of AFL, to meet the learning needs of all pupils
- Be able to use data, assessment and target setting to impact positively on pupil progress
- Be committed to raising standards and improving progress for all children
- Have experience of delivering a high quality, broad, balanced and exciting curriculum covering all aspects of learning
- Be innovative and shows initiative, demonstrating creative ideas to support the development of an enriched and vibrant curriculum which reflects our school values
- Have the ability to plan to meet the needs of all groups of pupils - demonstrating high expectations and standards
- Use ICT effectively when teaching
- Use a range of positive behaviour strategies to effectively promote outstanding behaviour for learning
- Have a willingness to participate in school activities including extra-curricular activities and school related community events
- Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be able to work as part of a forward thinking team
- Be a reflective learner who is always open to new initiatives
- Be committed to safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children
