Nestled within beautiful external grounds, Merdon Junior School strives to deliver a curriculum that is inclusive, creative and current. We are a two-form entry Junior School situated in the attractive residential area of Chandler’s Ford, focused on ‘Achieving the best for All.’
Merdon Junior School is an exciting place to work where children have keen minds and a hunger for learning. We promote pupil voice and children have many opportunities to lead and work as a team. We are passionate about the arts and sport and provide many opportunities in these areas. We believe in learning being fun for children and adults so professional development is very important to us. Staff are given many opportunities to develop as a team and individually. We have a dedicated staff team, an active PTA and supportive parents.
The school is at an exciting point in its journey having just appointed a new Headteacher, who will be starting after Easter.

- Understand that behaviour is communication and implement the behaviour policy to ensure all pupils are included and motivated.
- Have a passion for learning and willingness to engage in CPD, including coaching.
- Have a good understanding of assessment, knowing how best to support pupil progress.
- Enjoy teaching and promoting the success of all children
This post is suitable for an ECT. If you are an ECT you will be supported by an experienced mentor and a programme of support to meet your needs and the opportunity to use your strengths and interests.
If you are an experienced teacher you will have the opportunity to use your experience to enhance our successful team and CPD to develop your strengths further.
