Key Stage 1 Teacher

Job Introduction

We are seeking to appoint an excellent teacher to the Federation for one of our KS1 mixed age classes. Due to a falling number on role, this post is a fixed term position until August 2026.   

 

We require an enthusiastic, caring teacher who has a good understanding of early child development and values a play-based approach.   You will have good interpersonal skills and will be a key member of the Infant teaching team, committed to raising standards of attainment and achievement for all children.  There are 5 classes in the infant school arranged into 2 EYFS classes and three mixed Year 1/2 classes. Teachers work very closely as part of a team. Both schools share a large green site and staff work closely together to ensure a through primary ethos.

We are looking for a teacher who:

  • values a play-based approach and has a real interest in how children learn best
  • is able to nurture, excite and bring joy to the curriculum 
  • create a stimulating, engaging learning, both inside and out, that is reflective of children’s needs and interests
  • offers a language rich environment that prioritises communication and language development 
  • has a good understanding of the Key Stage One Curriculum
  • uses on-going assessment for learning to adapt provision and planning
  • has high expectations of pupil achievement and positive behaviour
  • has a focus and commitment to developing their own professional skills
  • enjoys and values the benefit of working as part of a team
  • enjoys motivating and encouraging children
  • relates well to parents, governors and all members of the school community

As a Federation we work closely together to ensure a through primary ethos. Both schools were judged to be good schools in our recent Ofsted inspections (Fryern Infant School March 2024 and Fryern Junior School inspection July 2024).
