Job Introduction
We are looking to find the final piece of our team puzzle for September! The post would be suitable for an experienced teacher on the main scale or an ECT as we are looking for the ‘right person’ for the School Community. The successful candidate will work in Key Stage One - year group to be agreed on appointment. Subject leadership (for non ECTs) will be agreed upon appointment.
We are an over-subscribed four form entry infant school with excellent resources and facilities. There are many things that we think makes Marnel Infant School distinct and would be really pleased to share these with you via the application pack or through a visit to the school. We are very proud of our children who have a love of learning. Our Ofsted report (March 2023) highlighted the focus we have on the development of the ‘whole child’ as is demonstrated through our ‘100 Things to do before you leave Marnel Infants’:
‘Leaders have prioritised pupils’ character development through an exceptionally rich range of experiences. Pupils are given many opportunities to take part in things that are new to them. Leaders ensure that cost is no barrier, particularly for disadvantaged pupils. There is a culture of inclusivity and celebration at the school. Leaders’ ambition for all pupils is unmissable. Nothing is left to chance, and there is deep and careful thought behind every decision. This means that every opportunity is grasped in making this a quite exceptional school.’
‘Leaders have created a culture where everyone wants to be their best in everything they do. Their good work extends beyond the school gates and into the community. Staff feel incredibly proud.’
As a new member of the staff team, you would be fully supported as both the Head of School and Inclusion Managers are out of class and available to offer support through team teaching and paired observation. To support all teachers, displays and role plays are completed by your Teaching Assistant and there is a full-time admin assistant who does any laminating, photocopying and sticking in you may need!
We are looking for someone who:
- believes that there is always something new to learn.
- believes in, and supports, the school’s ethos of ‘Whatever it takes’ to help our children to reach their full potential.
- believes that all problems can be overcome and are best solved when working together.
- is reflective and committed to demonstrating the very best standard of teaching and learning.
If this sounds like you then please get in touch; we look forward to hearing from you! For more information about the role or an application pack please e-mail the school’s headteacher on s.giles-cox@marnel-inf.hants.sch.uk
We will look at applications upon their receipt and therefore reserve the right to withdraw the advert prior to the closing date.
Safer Recruitment
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We will ensure that all our recruitment and selection practices reflect this commitment. All successful candidates will be subject to Disclosure and Barring Service checks along with other relevant employment checks.
