Job Introduction
We are looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to join our happy and supportive school, within the Meon Valley Federation, based at Meonstoke C of E school. We welcome applications from enthusiastic people with a flexible, positive, can do attitude who are committed to supporting children to achieve their best. We will ensure there is an appropriate level of support and engagement to enable you to grow and develop in this role. The role will involve supporting children’s learning through small group work, delivering English and Maths interventions and working one to one to support individuals. The role also includes lunchtime supervision.
The person we are looking for will be:
- Have a GCSE in English and Maths
- Passionate about making learning experiences exciting and memorable
- A person with high expectations of themselves and children’s performance
- A reflective practitioner with excellent interpersonal skills
- Flexible and able to use their own initiative
- Able to demonstrate good communication skills
- Committed to working as part of a team
- A good timekeeper
- Committed to ensuring the safety and welfare of children at all times, understanding key safeguarding issues and procedures within a school environment
- Prepared to take an active part in the wider life of the school
- Be prepared to travel to Newtown Soberton Infant School School for training, support, work, and whole school activities.
- Previous experience as an ELSA desirable but not essential
