Job Introduction

ROLE:  Lead Administration Officer

SCHOOL:  Shirley Infant and Junior School

HOURS:  37 hours per week; Mon-Fri; term time plus one week.

SALARY:  Grade 7 - £31,067 – £35,234 FTE; actual salary £27,362 – £31,033)

CLOSING DATE:  Wednesday 22nd January 2025

INTERVIEW DATE:  Monday 3rd February 2025

START DATE:  February/March 2025

 

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced administrator to join our friendly office team. You will lead the effective administration of the school office and support the strategic work of the School Business Manager. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive administrative support, maintain key systems and records, and ensure the smooth running of the school's administrative functions. We would expect the successful candidate to take on or grow into line management responsibilities with appropriate training.

Shirley Infant and Junior Schools are oversubscribed three-form entry schools that together form a vibrant and inclusive community dedicated to providing high-quality education and support to our students. Hamwic Education Trust (HET) is a large, fast-paced Trust that currently has 37 academies across the South Coast. Linked into 6 community-based partnerships, there are 34 primary academies, 2 secondary and 1 hospital school.

WE ARE SEEKING A PROFESSIONAL INDIVIDUAL WHO: 

  • Has experience working a school or office environment (managerial experience desirable)
  • Has experience of online management systems, such as Bromcom
  • Has a positive, can-do attitude and can prioritise tasks in a busy environment
  • Manages challenging situations calmly and professionally
  • Has excellent communications skills with a variety of stakeholders
  • Understands the need for high levels of confidentiality
  • Can contribute to a strong safeguarding culture within the school
  • Has GCSEs in English and Maths (relevant qualifications in administration, HR or finance desirable)
