Learning Support Assistant 1:1

Job Introduction

We are looking to appoint a caring and happy staff member to support a Year R child from January. This will be an excellent opportunity for somebody who is thinking about entering the teaching profession and enjoys working with children. We are a happy, friendly, supportive team and in role training will be given. Our dedication to staff well-being was praised and recognised in our recent Ofsted where our school maintained its 'outstanding' grading.


Qualities we are looking for:

  • a positive person who likes working with children
  • an ability to use initiative to design tasks that follow children's interest
  • a team player who can follow planned learning and also contribute to meetings
  • have energy, enthusiasm and the ability to be flexible
  • be resilient, patient and caring
  • share our commitment to the safeguarding of children
  • be able to work with outside agencies
  • have experience of the Early Years curriculum
  • have experience of working with children with social/communication difficulties
  • be able to attune to a child's emotional needs
  • be able to motivate children to learn

Due to funding, this role is a temporary contract until 31st August 2025 to be reviewed in line with the school budget. There will be intimate care responsibility within the role and experience of this is desirable. It would suit a nursery practitioner who would like school experience.
