  • Contract/ Hours: Fixed Term, 5 days a week (31.25 hours) 
  • Salary Type: Support Staff
  • Salary Details: Grade B  (£22,737 - £23,058 FTE)  Grade C (£23,115 - £24,140 FTE) 
  • Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 8.30am - 3.15pm (excluding 30 minute lunchbreak)

We are looking to appoint a caring and committed Learning Support Assistant who shows the determination to make a real difference to all children including those with specific learning needs.  Joining our highly inclusive team at Fairfield Infant School, we are focused on ensuring our children are very well-supported to develop their communication and interaction skills to embrace the best opportunities which will establish them as happy and independent life-long learners.

 

We are looking for someone who:

 

  • Has a caring, nurturing and highly inclusive approach for every child

  • Has experience of working with Early Years / KS1 children to develop communication and interaction
  • Shows resilience and determination to support children to overcome potential barriers to learning
  • Has a cheerful disposition, positive outlook and a good sense of humour

 

The successful candidate will be expected to:

 

  • Work with groups of children including providing specific support and intervention under the direction of the class teacher  
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of safeguarding practices and confidentiality
  • Show a flexible and adaptable approach to presenting and modelling learning
  • Support the team in reviewing the progress of pupils
  • Contribute to evaluation, review and planning discussions with the teacher, SENCO and other members of the support team
  • Offer a fair and consistent approach to managing individual needs in line with school policies and procedures
  • Prepare and organise resources
  • Communicate regularly with parents and with wider agencies
