Learning Support Assistant - Fixed Term until August 2026

Job Introduction

Hatch Warren Junior is a three form entry school which serves the Hatch Warren area of Basingstoke. We are looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to join our supportive and hardworking team to work on a one to one basis with a child.

 The successful candidate will be expected to:
 • Maintain a high level of support for the children's needs
 • Implement learning activities to enable the children to have access to the planned curriculum
 • Help the children to develop social skills and appropriate interactions with peers.
 • Have a willingness to learn new skills
 • Have the ability to support the development of the children's social and self-help skills
 • Use a variety of positive behaviour management strategies
 • Work closely with and be accountable to the class teacher, who will give guidance on the nature and extent of the support and supervision
 • Plan and review regularly with the class teacher
 • Meet regularly with the SEN coordinator and contribute to Individual Education Plans


We are looking for someone who:
 • Has a professional approach to all aspects of school life
 • Possesses excellent communication skills both written and verbal
 • Has appropriate levels of literacy and numeracy
 • Is able to work effectively as part of a successful team, show initiative and be flexible at all times
 • Has experience of working with primary aged children
 • Has a caring, cheerful and conscientious disposition
 • Shows resilience and determination
 • Has a good sense of humor
