Job/Person Summary
Four Lanes Community Junior School (part of Four Lanes Federation) is a very highly regarded school with a warm and caring ethos. We are seeking to appoint enthusiastic, friendly and caring Learning Support Assistants to work supporting groups and the whole class, as well as working 1:1 with pupils. The position also includes a daily lunchtime duty.
You will be working with pupils to access their learning and helping them to develop their social skills and interaction in the classroom and at playtimes. You will work under the direction of the Year Leader and Assistant Headteacher - Inclusion.
The successful candidate will:
- Demonstrate good literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE Grades A-C (or equivalent) in Maths and English)
- Have experience of working with children with social, communication/language needs is desirable, but not essential
- Be understanding, patient, flexible and cheerful
- Have high expectations of learning and possess good behaviour management skills
- Implement learning activities as directed by the class teacher
- Support the child’s development of social and self-help skills
