Due to rapid expansion, we are excited to offer opportunities for enthusiastic Learning Support Assistants to join our vibrant federation of two special schools in Fareham. This is an opportunity to learn about special educational needs and make a difference to people’s educational experiences.
Our schools cater for a wide range of special educational needs, from moderate to profound learning difficulties. We aim to provide a stimulating, creative environment where every individual is valued and supported to achieve their very best.
We are seeking two appoint two dedicated and skilled Learning Support Assistants (LSA 3) to join our dynamic and nurturing team at Heathfield School. Our schools are committed to providing inclusive, personalised education for pupils with complex needs, with a strong emphasis on communication, emotional wellbeing, and independence.

We are looking for practitioners who:
- have proven experience of leading classes in the absence of the teacher, including directing the class team of LSAs;
- have proven experience of supporting pupils with ASD and a range of communication needs, including non-verbal and alternative communication methods (e.g. PECS, Makaton, AAC);
- have knowledge of communication strategies and sensory integration approaches;
- can work closely with teachers and therapists to deliver tailored learning experiences;
- can promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation and social interaction;
- can contribute to a safe, stimulating and respectful learning environment
- have a calm and consistent approach;
- are able to motivate and inspire children’s learning;
- are flexible and creative, and willing to adapt the learning environment;
- will support children with personal care.
