Learning Support Assistant & Lunchtime Supervisory Assistant

Job Introduction

We are seeking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant and Lunchtime Supervisory Assistant to become part of a strong team in our small, village Church of England primary school.  These positions are to start in September 2025.

We are proud of our broad and rich curriculum, which we aim to deliver through memorable and exciting learning opportunities. Our children are a delight to work with and the whole staff team are committed to nurturing each unique child, in a community where positive relationships are at the basis of all that we do.

We value high quality Continuing Professional Development and aim to work to people’s strengths, in order to bring out the best in our children.  We believe that children learn best when they feel safe and secure and we place great importance on developing children’s mental and emotional health.  Our Behaviour Policy is summed up by our three school rules: Be Kind; Be Respectful; Be the Best You Can Be.  Our Christian Values of Love, Courage and Hope underpin the daily life of our school and we enjoy strong links with the community.

The role will involve supporting children in class and working independently with small groups as well as working alongside the teacher to support children’s learning, social and emotional needs.  This rewarding role requires someone who is caring, motivating and patient.  The successful candidate will become part of a strong and effective LSA team.

In the role of Lunchtime Supervisory Assistant, you will be supervising the children while they eat their lunch, encouraging good manners and supporting healthy eating.  During lunchtime you will also be supervising the children on the playground and field.

Applicants should be enthusiastic, reliable, hardworking and flexible, but more importantly enjoy working with children.  The successful applicant will cover the hours of 8.30am to 12.00pm (LSA) and 12.00pm to 12.30pm (lunchtime supervisor), 5 days a week.  The role is term time only.  Experience in this role will help support future applications for other support roles at our school.
