Job/Person Summary

Mill Hill Primary School is seeking to appoint a learning support assistant to work in Year 3. The role is for 29 hours per week, Monday to Friday. We welcome people who are passionate about helping children learn and who are committed to developing the whole child.

We are committed to creating an inclusive learning environment and have high expectations of the children. The role will include working with groups of children, as well as providing 1:1 support for social and emotional needs within the class.

For the right applicant, there is an opportunity to take up a Level 3 position to provide cover across Years 3 and 4 on a regular basis e.g. PPA time

The successful candidate will:

  • Be highly qualified with excellent literacy and numeracy skills
  • Have previously been an LSA or have equivalent experience
  • Be flexible and able to follow school systems to support learners
  • Have a good understanding of children’s learning and be able to secure rapid and sustained progress through teaching interventions
  • Have an empathetic understanding of children’s emotions and behaviour and actively seek to remove barriers to learning
  • Approach every day as a new learning opportunity 
  • Be calm, positive and resilient
  • Have a ‘can do’ attitude with high aspirations for themselves, our children and staff
  • Use initiative to ensure all learners achieve the best outcomes.
