Church Crookham Junior School is a vibrant, inclusive and ambitious school at the heart of our community. We are looking to appoint a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Learning Support Assistant and Lunchtime Leader to join our friendly team.This rewarding role combines supporting children in the classroom with helping to create a positive, safe and enjoyable lunchtime experience. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and support staff to help pupils achieve their full potential academically, socially and emotionally.

The Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:

  • Support children's learning in class, in small groups and on a one-to-one basis.
  • Help teachers to deliver engaging and inclusive lessons.
  • Encourage children's independence, confidence and resilience.
  • Support children with a range of learning, behavioural and emotional needs.
  • Contribute to the positive and nurturing environment of the school.

As a Lunchtime Leader, you will:

  • Lead the lunchtime team. Effectively deploy staff, share training needs with SLT and identify resource needs 
  • Supervise pupils during lunch and outdoor play.
  • Promote positive behaviour and respectful relationships.
  • Organise and encourage safe and enjoyable play activities.
  • Support pupils in resolving minor friendship issues.
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children throughout the lunchtime period.

  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Is patient, caring and reliable.
  • Can build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families.
  • Has high expectations of behaviour and conduct.
  • Works well as part of a team but can also use initiative.
  • Shares our commitment to safeguarding and inclusion.

Previous experience working with children is desirable, though enthusiasm, commitment and a willingness to learn are equally important.
