Job Introduction
We are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified or experienced LSA to provide a mixture of one-to-one and in class support, most probably in Year 4 in the mornings. This is a temporary post for one year initially but is likely that the role will be able to be extended into the next school year at least. This job is advertised as a Scale B post but we would consider offering a Scale C salary for applicants with recent and proven experience in a primary school setting. There is a pay award pending for Hampshire Support Staff too!
In our school, you would be working in partnership with the classteacher/SENDCo as part of our experienced learning support and pastoral team. Your role will be to help scaffold and adapt learning, breaking it down into achievable steps to help children build skills, confidence and independence. We believe that all our children should be able to access the curriculum and wider school opportunities with confidence and independence and our learning support staff are the amazing people that work with our teaching team to make this happen.
In addition to the class LSA work, this post also includes working three lunchtimes a week, supporting all our children to enjoy happy, healthy and successful breaktimes. We believe that having Learning Support staff at lunchtimes provides quality provision and high levels of continuity for all our children. Our start time is 8.40am and lunchtime finishes at 1pm.
We are especially keen to receive applications from anyone who also has ELSA experience and qualifications as some additional hours and pastoral work may be available (and will be paid at a scale in line with this part of the role.) These hours would be in the afternoons and would be a mixture of Nurture Group and ELSA sessions. Please indicate on your application if you are also interested in the additional ELSA role.
