Learning Support Assistant (Fixed Term to August 2027)
Grade C (C1 – C5, salary dependent on experience)

We are seeking to appoint a smiley, cheerful and experienced Learning Support Assistant to join our fantastic team at Kings Furlong Junior School.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children to thrive. The role involves working alongside teachers and colleagues to support learning across the school, including working with individuals, small groups and occasionally on a 1:1 basis with specific pupils. You will also help to organise and deliver targeted intervention programmes to support pupils’ learning and emotional development. Initially, the role will be based in Year 3, supporting children in their transition from infant school, with a strong focus on providing emotional support, building confidence and nurturing positive relationships to help pupils settle successfully into junior school life.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a good understanding of how children learn
- Has experience of working with children, including those with complex or challenging emotional needs
- Has high expectations of behaviour and achievement for all children
- Is caring, patient and communicates effectively with both children and adults
- Is self-reflective, proactive and willing to learn
- Can work independently as well as part of a supportive team
- Is organised, flexible and able to use their initiative
- Has good literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE grade C or equivalent preferred)
- Is committed to supporting children to become independent and achieve their best
