Job Introduction
Chalk Ridge Primary School would like to appoint an enthusiastic and self-motivated Learning Support Assistant to join our team. Our Learning Support Assistants work in close partnership with class teachers to deliver lessons that support all our children. It is anticipated that in this role the successful candidate will predominantly provide 1-2-1 support for a child with an EHCP.
This position is initially offered on a fixed term appointment through to 31st July 2025 with the possibility of extending into the next academic year.
You will be working term time only, but this will include our five Inset/Training Days.
This position is open to applications at Level 1 at Grade B Pro Rata: £15,811.68.
The successful candidate will have the following attributes;
- Enjoy working with children, building positive relationships in a calm, empathetic way.
- A relevant qualification (and a minimum of 3 years relevant experience of working with children would be preferred).
- Have obtained Maths and English qualifications to GCSE Grade 4 or above, or their equivalent.
- Experience of supporting children in EYFS and/or KS1.
- Experience of supporting children with SEN.
- An understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding procedures.
- Be committed to the highest possible levels of achievement for every pupil.
- Be cheerful, flexible and approachable, with a good sense of humour.
- Show initiative within the role and have good time management skills.
- Be a hard-working team player, able to work closely with teachers and other adults within the classroom to ensure the best for all our pupils.
- Have the patience and the resourcefulness to support and inspire our children with their learning, helping to unlock their potential.
- Have a good understanding of child development.
- Have excellent communication skills.
- Be able to support children’s behaviour for learning.
- Be enthusiastic and committed to supporting children with specific needs.
