Job Introduction
Kings Worthy Primary School are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic and caring SEND support Learning Support Assistant. The role is to support children in upper KS2 who have EHC plans with communication and interaction needs.
The successful candidate will be working 1:1 with key children, to support them with their communication skills and emotional development to enable them to successfully access the KS2 curriculum, working closely with class teachers, pastoral support lead and SENDCo. We can offer training to support your individual needs so that you can develop your skills further.
Ideally, applicants will have experience of working with children with additional needs and/or disabilities in a main stream or special educational setting. If applicants are considering a career in teaching, we can offer support to

The successful candidate will:
- Understand that behaviour is always a form of communication and to be able to provide positive behaviour support.
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Have the ability to work as part of a collaborative and supportive team.
- Be enthusiastic and patient.
- Have experience of working with children with additional needs including autism, want to make a difference to children’s learning.
- Be able to use initiative to develop and deliver own programs to promote self-regulation and self-esteem in individual children.
- Is able to work independently and with initiative.
- Qualifications in English and Maths are essential.
