Learning Support Assistant

Job Introduction

No two days are the same, but on a typical day you will:

  • meet and greet the child/ren to ensure that the transition from home to school is positive;
  • make the child/ren feel safe, happy and cared for at school;
  • follow the child/ren’s Three Point Behaviour Plan so that they are treated consistently by all members of staff;
  • adapt the teacher’s plan to cater for the needs of the pupil/s in your care;
  • communicate with the parent/carer when the child/ren is/are collected;
  • provide specialist care;
  • support at lunchtimes with ensuring positive behaviour both in the school hall and outside on the playground; 
  • make a difference in the lives of our children at Merton.

Hours are typically 8:30am - 3:15pm or 8:45am - 3:30pm, however we are happy to offer more hours to the successful applicant so that they can run after school clubs.
