Staff Vacancy - Learning Support Assistant

- Salary Details: EHCC Grade C – Actual Salary £18195-£18960 (depending on experience) based on Full-time Equivalent salary range of £25186 - £26244
- Hours of Work: 31.25 hours per week, term time only (39 weeks)
We are looking to appoint a dedicated, nurturing and empathetic Learning Support Assistant to join our supportive team and work across our Key Stage One classes.
As part of our commitment to ensuring every child reaches their full potential, we are looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to provide targeted support for pupils. You will work closely with teachers to identify pupils and provide tailored support using specific programmes used within school, supporting and working with the teacher to assess when necessary. This role will involve supporting both groups and individuals.
The role includes half an hour of lunchtime supervison where you will support our children either in the dining hall or leading play.
You will need to be flexible, motivated and be prepared to use your initiative, working closely with the class teacher and SENDCo. You will have knowledge and experience of working with children, patience, a sense of humour and a passion for supporting young children in their learning and life skills. Essential requirements for this post include:
- Previous experience of working with children in an educational setting
- Maths and English GCSE at Grade C or above
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with clear and accurate enunciation
- Have a positive outlook and will contribute to the ethos of our school
- Have enthusiasm for working with children and developing their learning
- Be organised, efficient and professional in their approach
- Be caring, understanding, nurturing and patient
- Have excellent behaviour management skills
- Be an excellent team player
- Have secure understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding.
Desirable requirements for this post are:
- An NVQ qualification or similar
- Experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs in a mainstream or special school setting.
