Job Introduction
We are a small school with big opportunities!
Icknield is an Outstanding special school for pupils with severe learning difficulties aged 3-19 years. However, the true beauty of our school is that we are a small site and everyone here is part of the close knit ‘Icknield Family’. We all know all of our children and young people, each other and every individual in our family is valued and cared for.
Our school’s strap line is ‘Your journey matters’ and that is true for both pupils and staff.
We are looking to recruit a conscientious, enthusiastic and energetic lunchtime assistant who is calm, caring and friendly to join our team. You will need to be a good timekeeper, confident when dealing with our pupils, a good communicator and be able to work well in a team. Previous experience would be an advantage, but is not essential.
The post involves:
- Helping set up the dinner hall for the lunchtime service.
- Assisting in the kitchen with all aspects of kitchen duties, including serving meals and washing-up after service.
- Some supervision of our students at lunchtime.
- Ensuring the safety, welfare and good conduct of all our students
- Ensuring any issues are dealt with in a positive and thoughtful manner
- Assisting with associated duties, e.g., cleaning up spillages, laying tables etc.
Hours are 11.30am to 1.30pm, Monday to Friday, term time only. We will provide ongoing training and staff development.
Visits to the school are welcome and encouraged.
