Would you like to join an inclusive and caring school community?
We are a warm, friendly, and inclusive primary school with a strong sense of community. Our motto, “Loving Learning, Loving Life, Loving God’s World,” reflects our commitment to nurturing every child’s potential within the framework of our Christian values of Compassion, Courage, and Respect.
We are seeking confident, caring, and friendly individuals to join our dedicated team of Lunchtime Supervisory Assistants. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that our children enjoy a safe, happy, and positive lunchtime experience every day.
If you have a kind nature, enjoy working with children, and would like to be part of a supportive and welcoming school community, we would love to hear from you!
The successful candidate will:
- Oversee the care, safety, welfare, and supervision of children during the lunch break — in the playground, dining hall, and other areas — ensuring that the lunchtime experience is as positive and enjoyable as possible.
- Be a team player who contributes to making lunchtimes fun, inclusive, and engaging for all children.
- Work effectively with others, following guidance when needed, while also showing initiative and independence.
- Interact positively and build warm, respectful relationships with both children and colleagues.
Be a clear and confident communicator, able to engage with children and adults alike. - Demonstrate an understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding procedures, always putting the welfare of children first.
- Be reliable, punctual, and committed to supporting the school’s caring ethos.
Duties include:
- Supervising children in the dining hall, playground, and other areas to ensure they remain safe, happy, and well-behaved throughout lunchtime.
- Working collaboratively as part of a team to plan, develop, and deliver a variety of inclusive and engaging indoor and outdoor play opportunities for all children.
- Promoting and supporting a whole-school approach to inclusive play, in line with the school’s values and behaviour expectations.
- Attending to minor accidents and providing basic first aid when required.
- Supporting younger pupils at the lunch servery, encouraging the independent and proper use of cutlery, and assisting them with cutting up food when necessary.
- Helping with lunchtime organisation, including cleaning and storing tables and chairs, and sweeping the floor once meals are finished, to maintain a clean and safe environment.
The successful candidate will work 12pm - 1pm Monday to Friday, term time only (39 weeks per year). Applications from candidates who are available to work fewer than 5 days per week are also welcome.
We will offer you:
- Children who are polite, happy and confident in their learning
- A school that values every member of staff and is committed to ongoing professional development and wellbeing
- The chance to make a real difference to the lives of our pupils
- A strong, professional team of enthusiastic, experienced staff
If you feel you can offer all of the above and you are the sort of person who takes pride in all that they do, then we would love to meet you!
