At Yarrow Heights School, we are pleased to offer an opportunity for either a Maths Teacher or a Maths Subject Lead, depending on your experience and career aspirations.
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Maths specialist to join our team, teaching across Key Stage 3 (KS2) to Key Stage 4 (KS4). You will support pupils to develop confidence, resilience, and strong mathematical understanding.
For candidates applying as a Maths Teacher, the role will focus on delivering high-quality, engaging lessons tailored to a range of learning needs.
For those applying as a Maths Subject Lead, this role also includes leadership responsibilities, driving the development of the Maths curriculum and supporting colleagues to deliver excellent teaching and learning.
As a Maths Teacher, you will:
- Plan and deliver engaging, adapted Maths lessons.
- Support pupils with a range of abilities and additional needs.
- Foster confidence, curiosity, and a positive attitude towards Maths.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school and department.
As a Maths Subject Lead, you will also:
- Lead the strategic development of the Maths curriculum in line with school priorities.
- Support, mentor, and guide colleagues within the department.
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching and learning in Maths.
- Promote innovative teaching approaches and a love of learning across the school.

Ideal Candidates Will:
- Have a strong enthusiasm for teaching Maths and inspiring young people.
- Hold a degree in Maths or a related subject, with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Demonstrate strong teaching practice; leadership experience is desirable for Subject Lead applicants.
- Have experience in mainstream and/or SEN settings (desirable).
- Possess excellent communication, organisational, and time management skills.
- Be adaptable, resilient, and committed to making a positive difference.
- Have a strong understanding of safeguarding and equality.

Yarrow Heights School is a mixed 7–19, local authority-funded SEN day school. Our pupils are typically able learners with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), often with a diagnosis of ASC and associated needs.
At Yarrow Heights, every pupil is valued as an individual. Our experienced team provides specialist education and therapeutic support for pupils whose needs cannot be met in mainstream settings. - Salary: £35,000 – £47,000 (depending on experience and responsibilities)
