Join Morelands Primary School as our new Maths Tutor!
We are currently seeking an inspirational Maths Tutor to work with a motivated group of Year 6 children. This role offers a unique opportunity to ignite a passion for maths and equip children with the skills and confidence needed to successfully transition to secondary school.
About the Role
· Position: Maths Tutor
· Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 11:05am – 12:15pm
· Additional PPA Time: 1 paid hour for Planning, Preparation, and Assessment (PPA), flexible on Wednesday or another mutually convenient time
· Focus: Supporting Year 6 children to become engaged, enthusiastic learners who are ready to embrace secondary school challenges with confidence and a strong academic foundation
Key Responsibilities
· Deliver high-quality, engaging maths tuition tailored to Year 6 pupils
· Inspire and motivate children to believe in their ability to meet and exceed expectations
· Develop and implement targeted learning strategies to build essential maths skills
· Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment that promotes a love of maths
· Prepare pupils for a smooth transition to secondary education by building confidence and resilience
· Collaborate closely with the year group team and school leadership to monitor pupil progress and adapt approaches accordingly
Qualifications and Experience
· Experience teaching or tutoring maths, preferably within primary education
· Strong understanding of the Year 6 curriculum and transition requirements to secondary school
· Ability to engage and enthuse children, particularly those who may lack confidence in maths
· Commitment to raising standards and supporting every child to achieve their potential
