Nursery/Pre-School Assistant

Job Introduction

Due to increasing demand, Brockenhurst CE Primary, Pre-School and Nursery is looking for an energetic, enthusiastic and suitably qualified person who shares our ethos of putting children at the heart of all we do.

The person will be part of a team with the Nursery and Pre-School Lead supporting and working with individuals aged 6 months to 2 years in a new bespoke purpose built room. The person will assist in planning, adapting and scaffolding activities, fostering an environment which encourages the development and independence of each child.  

We are looking for someone who: 

  • Can enthuse and inspire children to grow and develop; 
  • Has a calm manner and is able to work flexibly and use their initiative; 
  • Is able to establish and sustain supportive and nurturing relationships; 
  • Demonstrates excellent behaviour management skills whilst remaining patient and positive;
  • Has excellent communication skills and is able to establish and maintain good relationships and rapport with colleagues, parents/carers and other professionals;
  • Is able to maintain confidentiality and follow safeguarding procedures; 
  • Has strong IT skills and is fully computer literate;
  • Can analyse online data and assessments;
  • Can link with external program providers;

Applicants must have: 

  • Previous experience of working with under 2’s in a nursery, pre-school, school or childminder.
  • Level 3 or above, or equivalent in Supporting Children/Teaching and Learning in Schools,
  • English and maths to GCSE level C or above or equivalent.

 

Pre-School Assistant (Nursery Provision)

Grade B3 

Monday – Friday 07:45 – 18:15         48 working weeks 

(2 weeks break at Christmas & 2 weeks break at end of August)

 

Start Date: 1st April 2025

 

Closing Date: Friday 21st February 2025

Interview Date: Friday 28th February 2025
