One to One – Special Educational Needs Learning Support Assistant – Fixed Term

Job Introduction

Copythorne Infant School is part of the Oaks CE Learning Federation, three small rural schools in the New Forest. 

We are looking to recruit a patient and dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Learning Support Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team. This role involves working one to one with a child with specific learning needs to help them to develop and thrive.

This is a fixed term contract until the end of August 2026. 

We are looking for a caring and compassionate team player, who will collaborate with colleagues, is willing to learn and develop their understanding of how different children develop.

Willing to try new approaches to learning 

Able to communicate with colleagues and feedback key information 

Assist with personal and intimate care as required, such as toileting, changing, and maintaining personal hygiene, following the school’s policies and training.

Help to create a safe, engaging and supportive learning space.

Use initiative and act in the best interest of all children 

Support children on the playground at lunch times and work as part of the lunchtime team

About You:

Experience of working with children with special educational needs (preferred but not essential – full training will be provided).

Compassionate, patient, and respectful of children’s dignity and privacy.

Comfortable providing personal and intimate care in a professional manner.

Able to work effectively as part of a team and build positive relationships with pupils and staff.

Reliable, flexible, and committed to supporting the school’s values and ethos.
