Outreach Worker-Gosport
At The Key Education Centre, we are committed to empowering children in mainstream schools, helping them thrive and stay engaged in their education. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Outreach Worker to join our supportive team. In this role, you will work closely with students and school staff, providing personalised support and
interventions. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of pupils who require additional support to remain in school and achieve their potential.
Key Responsibilities:
Work directly with pupils who face barriers to attending or succeeding in school, offering individual support and interventions.
Collaborate with school staff to identify students who may benefit from additional outreach support.
Support students in overcoming personal, social, and emotional challenges that impact their ability to stay in school.
Provide guidance and mentoring to students to help them build confidence, resilience, and positive behaviour.
Develop and implement strategies to help students stay engaged in their education and improve attendance.
Maintain strong relationships with families, school staff, and external agencies to ensure a holistic support approach for each student.
Monitor and track progress, providing regular updates and reports to relevant stakeholders.
Requirements:
Experience of working with young people in an educational or support role.
Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and the challenges faced by pupils at risk of exclusion.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with pupils, staff, and families.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with good organizational and time management skills.
Empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental approach to working with young people.
Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
A flexible, proactive approach and the ability to adapt to changing situations.
Additional Information:
This is a full-time position; however we are open to considering the post as a job share.
The position is term time only and fixed for at least two years.
