Do you enjoy observing the curiosity of a child and being able to nurture them to join in with their learning experiences with their peers?

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Part-time (2.5 days) Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team, who has high aspirations for all pupils.  The role will be extremely rewarding:

Motivation from improving the life chances for our children;

To work with our young people in order to help them to develop into independent learners to ensure they make good progress with all aspects of their learning;

To support our children to access tasks and activities that they find challenging both inside the classroom, as part of 1:1 intervention or within a small group situation;

The duties will include:

Supporting the children in the classroom and in the playground;

Working closely with the class teacher to develop the pupils’ academic and social skills;

The successful candidate will:

  • Have understanding and experience of the EYFS and KS1 curriculum
  • Have understanding in supporting speech and language needs
  • Be able to use initiative to support both child initiated and teacher led learning
  • Understand the importance of play in a child’s learning and development
  • Be able to support children’s social and emotional development and show empathy and understanding
  • Be able to employ a range of behaviour management strategies
  • Be enthusiastic, creative, flexible and willing to embrace new ideas
  • Be able to form effective working relationships and work both independently  and as a member of a team
  • Have good numeracy, written and oral communication skills and be able to contribute to the day to day recording of individual pupil progress
  • Have relevant qualifications preferably to at least NVQ2 or equivalent 

Be willing to undertake training to gain further skills
