We are seeking to appoint an organised, efficient and enthusiastic Clerk to the Governors to support our dedicated Governing Body of Lockerley CofE Primary School. The successful candidate will work closely with the Chair of Governors and Headteacher to coordinate the effective operation of Full Governing Body meetings.
The role includes preparing agendas, coordinating communications and documentation, taking accurate minutes, and providing advice on governance practice and policy in line with national guidance and statutory requirements. The Clerk will also support the Chair of Governors and Headteacher in ensuring compliance with governance responsibilities.
The successful candidate will be able to work independently, manage deadlines effectively, maintain accurate records and handle confidential information with discretion.
The role requires attendance at evening meetings, with home working for the remainder of the contracted hours. Access to a computer and reliable internet connection is essential. The primary commitment is attendance at ten Full Governing Body meetings each year. The post is term-time only and provides approximately six hours of work per meeting.
The position is available to start as soon as pre-employment checks have been satisfactorily completed.
