Elvetham Heath Primary School is a vibrant and forward-thinking school located in the heart of Fleet. We are a Character Education school, dedicated to providing a nurturing environment where every child’s potential is supported and their character developed. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Year 6 teacher to join our team on a maternity cover basis and help continue our commitment to excellence in teaching and learning.

The Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for a talented and passionate teacher to join our school on a maternity cover basis. This will be a part-time position and hours can be discussed at interview. You will take on the responsibility of planning and delivering high-quality lessons across a range of subjects, ensuring that every child is engaged, challenged, and supported in their learning journey. You will be working closely with our fantastic Year 6 team to maintain the high standards of education for our Year 6 children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons in English, Maths, Science, and other subjects for Year 6 pupils.
  • Use assessment data to monitor and track student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as needed.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment where all students can thrive.
  • Promote our five core virtues of Respect, Responsibility, Perseverance, Honesty and Kindness.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and refine the school’s curriculum and teaching practices.
  • Maintain clear communication with parents and carers regarding pupil progress.
  • Uphold high standards of behaviour management, ensuring a respectful and focused classroom atmosphere.

The Successful Candidate Will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Have experience teaching in Key Stage 2, ideally with successful experience of preparing children for statutory end of KS2 assessments.
  • Be passionate about teaching and have the ability to inspire and motivate children.
  • Demonstrate strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive learning environment.
  • Be a team player, eager to work collaboratively with other teachers and staff.
  • Have excellent communication skills, both with children and adults.
