Job Introduction
Part-Time School Administrative Assistant
All Saints C of E Primary School
Job/Person Summary
We are seeking a friendly, professional and adaptable Administrative Assistant to join our small, supportive school office team.
This is an interesting and varied role within a busy, fast-paced office where no two days are the same! As the first point of contact for our school, you will play an important role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the office, supporting staff, welcoming visitors and communicating with parents and children.
Working in a primary school brings its own unique challenges and rewards. You will need patience, understanding and a caring approach when communicating with children aged 4–11, alongside the confidence and professionalism to work effectively with parents, staff and outside agencies. You should be comfortable managing frequent interruptions, prioritising competing demands and dealing with unexpected situations, whilst maintaining a calm, positive and welcoming manner.
Our school is housed in a building over 100 years old, so we are looking for someone who is practical, resourceful and willing to turn their hand to whatever may be needed to support the smooth running of the school.
The successful candidate will:
- Be friendly, welcoming and professional when dealing with children, parents, staff, visitors and outside agencies.
- Have good administrative, organisational and IT skills, including experience of Microsoft Office. Experience of using Arbor would be an advantage.
- Be able to prioritise tasks, work independently and use their initiative in a busy office environment.
- Understand the importance of safeguarding, confidentiality and accurate record-keeping.
- Be willing to administer first aid and medicines following appropriate training.
- Be flexible and willing to undertake a variety of duties to support the smooth running of the school.
We can offer:
- A friendly and highly supportive staff team within a one-form-entry primary school.
- A welcoming working environment where teamwork is valued.
- A varied and interesting role where every day brings something different.
- Opportunities for training and development.
Our values of Love, Hope and Community are at the heart of everything we do. If you are an organised, caring and adaptable individual who enjoys a challenge and would thrive in a busy school office, we would love to hear from you.
We would be delighted to welcome prospective applicants to visit our school and find out more about the role.
