Part-time class teacher (Year 5) from January 2026

Job Introduction

An exciting and unexpected opportunity has arisen for us to appoint a new part-time class teacher to our school from January 2026, working as part of our Year 5 team.

We are a very happy, successful and forward-thinking school where children work hard and behave well. We were delighted that this was recognised in our recent Ofsted Inspection (June 2025) which says ‘Pupils love their school. There is a strong sense of community and belonging’.  The wellbeing of our children and staff is at the heart of all we do and it is genuinely a nice place to work! ‘Staff are rightly proud to work here. They feel well supported to develop professionally and to manage their well-being.’ (Ofsted)

We are looking for an enthusiastic, reflective and creative teacher to be part of our continued commitment to excellence and enjoyment for all our children.  We have high expectations of ourselves as well as the children and are proud that this was recognised by Ofsted.

This role is based in a Year 5 class for this academic year as the current teacher is leaving after 10 years to follow her dream of running her own business which has suddenly taken off! We can offer you

  • A supportive staff, parent and governor community plus fantastic, hardworking children. The class are an absolute delight.
  • Weekly PPA time with your year group and ongoing professional development, including additional release time/training opportunities.   You’d actually only be teaching 2.5 days!
  • The chance to work in partnership with experienced colleagues.  The job share for the class is our Assistant Head and they are in school every day, helping to facilitate excellent handover.
  • An exciting curriculum to teach, which is planned collaboratively.  We are always eager to take on new ideas too and are proud to offer learning through initiatives such as Let’s Think in English.
  • A positive school community, where teamwork is a real strength and staff wellbeing is important. We have high expectations of both children and our staff but also believe that everyone’s experience of school should be successful and memorable too!
  • A very well-resourced school with extensive grounds, Forest School and excellent facilities for learning.
