An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team at Wickham Pre-School from 6th January 2025.
Part of Wickham Church of England Primary School, Wickham Pre-School is a popular and highly-regarded setting, with a very strong and committed staff team, who work very closely with the families of children attending.
The school is located in the heart of the village, only a few minutes’ drive from the town of Fareham, and is surrounded by the beautiful countryside of the Meon Valley.
The ideal candidate will be a dedicated early years educator, with a desire to create a nurturing environment for the children, where they feel happy and safe. They will be skilled at using in the moment planning to provide learning opportunities, both indoors and out, taking into account children’s interests and needs, to ensure that every child thrives and flourishes.
Applicants will preferably be trained to at least Level 3 in Childcare and Education (or equivalent), with a proven record of working in early years education, although we may also consider individuals with relevant experience. In return, we offer a term time only contract, employment under Local Authority conditions and excellent support and links with the school, its staff and resources.
The role is maternity cover, for 32.5 hours a week, term-time only. We will also consider applications from anyone who would would like to work less than the 32.5 hours advertised. Please specify your preferred working days and times on your application form. There is a possibility that there may be permanent hours available beyond the period of maternity cover.
Preferered working hours are:
Monday: 9.00am - 3.15pm
Tuesday: 9.00am – 5.00pm
Wednesday: 9.00am – 3.15pm
Thursday: 9.00am – 5.00pm
Friday: 9.00am – 3.15pm
