Receptionist/Admin Assistant – Gosport

We are seeking an Admin Assistant to join our team at Gosport.  The position is for 35 hours per week, term time only Monday to Friday.  We are looking for the hours to be worked 8:00 - 15:00 daily to support the school needs.

The Key Education Centres provide alternative provisions for pupils aged 11—16 who have been excluded or are at risk of exclusion from mainstream schools. Our provisions pride on being abreast of current pedagogy and our work around attachment-focused and trauma informed practice is a fundamental part of our work in engaging pupils in learning experiences beyond those of the traditional curriculum alongside providing them with the skills needed to succeed in life beyond The Key and in modern Britain. 

We are looking for an Admin Assistant who has a genuine interest in supporting our pupils and improving their life chances. The successful candidate will join us in our Reception at our Gosport site, supporting the students, staff and visitors with all aspects of administration. Our environment can be challenging, but we believe the support available and our team focused approach make this a really rewarding experience.  


Are you;

Confident in English & Maths and have a good standard of both

Able to work in a busy, challenging Reception environment, whilst maintaining a welcoming and smiling face

An experienced administrator with great organisational and interpersonal skills 

Able to accurately take messages and swiftly pass to the relevant member of staff

Able to use your initiative and be resourceful

Able to prioritise and multitask, managing your workload and meeting deadlines

Efficient and self motivated

Someone with an eye for detail

Able to work on your own, and as part of a wider team

Able to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality

Willing to learn and be proactive about your own learning

IT literate with Microsoft Office and Google suite

Personable, and able to communicate with stakeholders of all levels 

SIMS trained (this is desirable but not essential, as training can be given)
