Hollywater School is a school for pupils aged 4-19 with complex learning needs. We set high but realistic expectations for all and encourage everyone to discover the joy of learning so that they may thrive, gain independence and be given every opportunity to achieve their full potential to be as independent as possible in their adult life. We recognise that the personal development of pupils spiritually, morally, socially and culturally, plays a significant part in their ability to achieve and learn and prepares them for the opportunities, responsibilities and experience of adult life.

We are seeking enthusiastic, energetic and conscientious learning support assistants who are looking to join a fantastic team. We are looking for someone who  

  • Is committed to bringing creativity and energy into the classroom
  • Be a calm, reliable person, passionate about making a difference for our students
  • Has the ability to challenge, motivate and inspire young learners 
  • Is able to demonstrate they can work under pressure and prioritise effectively
  • Is committed to safeguarding and equality 
  • Is persevering, patient and has a good sense of humour 
  • Willing to work flexibly as the needs and demands of the school fluctuate 
  • Have a nurturing nature which will support and develop the wellbeing of all students 
  • Has the ability to work effectively as part of a team and form positive relationships with students, parents, carers, colleagues and the wider community. 

This is a wonderful opportunity for individuals who are looking to make a difference in the lives of children with additional needs.

Applicants should have:

  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and written 
  • Hold GCSE’s in maths and English at a grade C or above 
  • Previous experience in working or volunteering in a school environment would be advantageous but not essential as full training will be given.
