We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated SENCO to join our academy and help us provide the care, guidance, and personalised support our pupils deserve.
Dove House is a popular, successful, and highly regarded school in Basingstoke, for students with severe learning difficulties and autism, aged between 11-19. We are proud to be an ‘Outstanding’ school but retain our passion to keep moving forward.
As our SENCo, you will play a key part in helping our pupils grow, learn, and feel confident in themselves. You will:
• Lead on SEND with empathy, clarity, and high expectations
• Oversee Annual Reviews, ensuring reports are shared and submitted within statutory timeframes
• Provide regular training and advice to tutors, teachers and class leaders
• Work closely with teachers, support staff, families, and external partners
• Be the designated teacher for children looked after
• Be a deputy designated safeguarding lead
You will be a qualified teacher with the National Award for SEN Coordination (or working towards it). You will be warm, approachable and passionate about supporting children with additional needs. You will be skilled at building trusting relationships with pupils, families and staff. You will be organised, reflective, and committed to creating an academy where every child feels safe and supported.
