Job Introduction

The Headteacher and Governors of Medstead Primary School are seeking to appoint a committed teacher to co-ordinate Special Needs provision across the school. The post is currently 2 days per week.

Our school is welcoming and friendly with highly motivated staff, children and supportive parents.

You will need:

The expertise and determination to integrate inclusion into all areas of school life.

A strong belief in a school ethos where pupils enjoy quality learning experiences.

The ability to liaise with Class Teachers and Learning Support Assistants who express concern and can evidence a range of in class strategies tried.

Oversee the administration of screening tests and identify appropriate interventions.

Experience of writing Individual Learnings Plans (ILPs).

Awareness of Education Healthcare Plans, up to date knowledge of the SEN code of practice.

Effective communication skills, including with parents, the ability to steer a meeting to an agreed conclusion, including Annual Reviews.

Able to make valid contributions to regular Pupil Progress Meetings with HT and Class Teachers.
