Role Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced SENDCO to join our dedicated team for one day a week. The SENDCO will play a crucial role in supporting our pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and ensuring that our school meets the needs of all learners.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management:
Lead the development and implementation of the SEND policy.
Coordinate the provision for pupils with SEND, ensuring effective support strategies are in place.
Collaboration:
Work closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to create tailored learning plans.
Foster strong relationships with parents and carers, keeping them informed and engaged in their child’s education.
Monitoring and Evaluation:
Assess and monitor the progress of pupils with SEND, providing regular updates to the leadership team.
Use data to inform practice and improve outcomes for all pupils.
Training and Development:
Provide training and support for staff on best practises for teaching pupils with SEND.
Stay updated on current legislation and best practises in SEND provision.
Qualifications and Experience:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant SEND qualification.
Proven experience in a SENDCO role or similar position.
Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and relevant legislation.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
