We are excited to be able to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic SENDCO to join our friendly and supportive leadership team. St Michael’s Infant school is a three form entry Infant School in Aldershot. We are a Christian school where our values of love, forgiveness, friendship, truthfulness, perseverance and creativity guide everything that we do. We are proud of our nurturing ethos and our absolute dedication to providing the best support for each individual child within our diverse and vibrant school community. Our children are wonderful, well-mannered and caring individuals who are always enthusiastic about their learning. Our committed staff team work closely together to plan a creative, story-centred curriculum with a strong focus on the development of oracy skills.


 This role would be non-class based but would include regular time within our Ready to Learn Provision. This would be an exciting opportunity to develop this provision for some of our children who have complex needs. As part of this role, there is an expectation to support and lead our team of LSA’s. This would involve weekly training meetings and dedicated time is given for this during school hours.


 As a school we invest in Provision Map software in order to demonstrate the progress that our children with SEND make and as a way of evaluating the impact of interventions. We would support the successful candidate with training and regular meetings with other SENDCO’s.

 We are looking for a SENDCO who:
 -Believes in our school vision and values.
 - values each individual child;
 -is passionate about developing our provision for children with SEND
 -holds the National award SENDCO qualification
 -has experience of leadership
 · enjoys working as part of a team;
 · has strong communication skills;
 -has a high level of empathy and has formed strong relationships with children/colleagues and parents/carers
 · has high expectations of pupil’s with SEND and the behaviour of pupils with SEND;
 · is committed to researching recent developments, theory and provision for children SEND
 -demonstrates a high level of personal organisational skills and time management
 -is able to analyse and interpret data and use this information to improve the provision for children with SEND

St. Michael’s Infant school was judged by OFSTED to be good in all areas (March 2025). The report states: ‘The school is a warm and welcoming community. Pupils feel safe and happy because of the positive relationships they enjoy with adults and each other. If they have any worries, they know staff will help them.’
