Come and make a difference at Barton Stacey
Are you passionate about ensuring that children with SEND are understood, supported and given every opportunity to thrive?
Would you like the opportunity to lead SEND provision in a small, friendly school where children are known as individuals and strong relationships with families really matter?
Are you looking for a part-time SENDCo role where you can make a genuine difference while being part of an experienced, supportive and committed team?
If so, we would love to hear from you.
Barton Stacey C of E Primary School is a happy, nurturing and inclusive village school where we know our children very well. We are proud of the relationships we have with our children and families and of our commitment to ensuring that every child is able to flourish. We are looking for a SENDCo who shares that same commitment.
Barton Stacey is part of The Dever Valley Federation, alongside Micheldever C of E Primary School. Our two schools work closely together and benefit from being part of a wider federation team, while retaining their own distinctive identities and communities.
About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and dedicated SENDCo to join our team from 1 January 2027.
This is a permanent, 0.4 FTE position (two days per week) with responsibility for SEND provision at Barton Stacey C of E Primary School.
You will be joining a school with established SEND systems and provision already in place, giving you the opportunity to build on strong foundations while bringing your own experience, ideas and expertise to the role.
Working closely with the Headteacher, teachers, LSAs, families and external professionals, you will play a key role in ensuring that our children with SEND receive the right support at the right time. You will provide knowledgeable and supportive leadership for colleagues, champion the needs of our children and help us to continue developing high-quality inclusive practice across the school.
We want our SENDCo to have the professional space to lead their area effectively, while knowing that they are supported by the Headteacher and a staff team who share responsibility for meeting the needs of our children.
The role could be particularly attractive to an experienced SENDCo seeking a rewarding part-time position or someone looking to combine the role with an existing part-time SENDCo or teaching position elsewhere.
We would love to hear from you if you:
- are a qualified teacher with a strong knowledge and understanding of SEND and the SEND Code of Practice;
- hold the appropriate SENDCo qualification, or are willing and eligible to undertake the required qualification;
- are passionate about securing the best possible outcomes for children with SEND;
- understand that successful SEND provision starts with knowing children and families well;
- can build positive, trusting relationships with children, parents and colleagues;
- can inspire, guide and support colleagues in identifying needs and providing effective support;
- can work strategically with staff and external professionals;
- are organised and confident in overseeing SEND provision, documentation and statutory processes;
- bring high expectations, fresh thinking and a positive approach to inclusive practice; and
- will support the Christian ethos and values of our school.
What can we offer you?
Most importantly, we can offer you the opportunity to make a real and visible difference to children and families in a school where SEND is valued and inclusion matters.
You will also find:
- wonderful children who are friendly, individual and keen to learn;
- a welcoming, experienced and supportive staff team;
- established SEND systems and provision on which to build;
- colleagues who understand that supporting children with SEND is a shared responsibility;
- supportive and engaged parents and governors;
- a close working relationship with the Headteacher and wider school team;
- opportunities for professional development;
- the benefits and professional support of working within The Dever Valley Federation; and
- a friendly village school community in a beautiful Hampshire setting.
