Sholing Junior School is able to offer an exciting opportunity for the role of a SENCO.
We are looking for an exceptional person to work in collaboration with our parents and children upholding our belief that each child is exceptional and has the opportunity to succeed regardless of their situation and background.
Job/Person Summary
We are looking for a SENCO with the following skills and qualities to work in the school:
Hold QTS qualification, and/or SEN accreditation or be willing to work towards SEN NPQ accreditation within 1 year of appointment
Have a proven record of expertise in Special Education Needs and experience of successfully teaching in KS2.
Have the ability to engage the whole school community, including external agencies and strong collaboration between each school.
Have a passion for children’s learning and development at all levels, managing all aspects of inclusion and committed to raising standards for all learners.
Be able to lead and develop a team of Teaching Assistants by demonstrating strong leadership and good organisational skills.
Be a team player who would really enjoy contributing to the life of the school.
Be prepared to be a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead and actively follow safeguarding training.
Be prepared to cover classes when if and when required
Be part of the senior leadership team.
Report to the head teacher and governing body.
