Safeguarding Officer – Grade D

Job Introduction

Are you passionate about pupil welfare and creating a safe, supportive school environment? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Safeguarding Officer to join Toynbee School.

Our Safeguarding and Pastoral Team are central to the progress and wellbeing of all our pupils. This is a unique opportunity to play a vital role in ensuring our students are safe, happy, and able to thrive.

Key responsibilities:

·         Act as a key member of the Safeguarding and Pastoral Team.

·         Support the Designated Safeguarding Lead in managing pupil safeguarding disclosures.

·         Liaise with staff, pupils, families, and external agencies.

·         Maintain accurate and confidential records.

·         Promote a culture of safety and wellbeing across the school.

The successful candidate will:

·         Have outstanding communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.

·         Have the ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and discretion

·         Be forward thinking, resilient and able to work under pressure

·         Be passionate about supporting young people to achieve their potential.

·         Hold at least GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) in English and Maths.

Whilst previous secondary school experience is not necessarily essential, a passion for supporting pupils to achieve their potential is crucial.
