Job Introduction
We are incredibly excited to be opening a school farm at South Baddesley. Initially the farm will be used as part of our after school club provision and we are looking for a talented practitioner to manage this club. This is a brand new provision and this role will involve planning and growing the farm from scratch. We will be setting up a farm steering group to oversee the development of the farm.
*The working hours outside of term time will be more flexible.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and lead a farm after school club for pupils aged between 4-11 years.
- Contribute to the leadership of the farm by being part of the farm steering group.
- With the support of the SBS Site Manager, care for the animals and plants on the farm.
- Have an interest in animals, plants and sustainable living.
- Demonstrate an interest in a creative approach to learning and play.
- Ensure a strong commitment to pupil wellbeing; fostering a supportive environment for all pupils to learn in.
- Work alongside an experienced teaching team, to support the needs of pupils attending the club.
Requirements:
- GCSE grades C/ 4+ in English and mathematics.
- Level 3 qualification in playwork or childcare, or be willing to complete this course.
- Other additional qualifications such as Forest School Leader.
- Have experience of working with primary aged children with a range of learning and developmental needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A passion for outdoor learning and a love of the natural world.

- Considering the specific context of South Baddesley CE Primary School and Nursery, the Learning Coach should be able to adapt their support to cater to 12% pupil premium and 17% SEND students.
