Senior Admin Assistant

Job Introduction

We are looking for an enthusiastic, welcoming, well-organized Senior Administrative Assistant to join our small office team and contribute to the day-today running of our busy school.

This is a key role within our school where you will be the primary point of contact for parents and visitors. Flexibility is essential, together with the ability to be pro-active and demonstrate excellent communication skills.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Brings a positive, approachable attitude, good telephone manner and a good sense of humour, contributing to a warm and welcoming office environment.
  • Can remain calm under pressure, manage multiple priorities effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Shows initiative and communicates with confidence and clarity, building strong working relationships across the school community.
  • Builds positive relationships with children, supporting the ethos and values of our school.
  • Supports the organization of school trips and events, working closely with staff to ensure smooth planning and execution.
  • Understands Health and Safety procedures, including managing risk assessments, coordinating training, and maintaining compliance.
  • Is dedicated, reliable, and hardworking, with a strong team ethic.
  • Maintains a high level of confidentiality and is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. 
  • Is willing and able (with training) to administer first aid and support children with medical needs in a calm and reassuring manner.
  • Is confident with IT

Desirable, but training will be given

  • Has an understanding of Attendance and will issue penalty notices according to policy and procedures (training will be given)
  • Brings experience in school administration, with a strong understanding of day-to-day office operations in an educational setting.
  • Has working knowledge of key systems, such as IBC/SAP and Arbor, or is eager to learn and have a secure knowledge of Microsoft software such as Excel, Word and Outlook. 
  • Possesses a creative flair, with some understanding of marketing, advertising, and the use of websites and social media to promote the school.
