Senior Admin Assistant

Job Introduction

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Admin Assistant to join our team. The role will be varied, and you will need to be adaptable and flexible. This is a key role within our school where you will be one of the primary points of contact for parents and visitors. 

Portway Junior School is a popular and oversubscribed junior school on the edge of Andover. Our most recent Ofsted inspection describes us as a ‘good’ school where children achieve well, take pride in their learning and benefit from an aspirational and well-designed curriculum. The report also noted our skilled staff and the strong positive and supportive culture within the school.


We are looking for someone who:

  • Is patient, caring and kind
  • Can remain calm under pressure
  • Builds positive relationships with children, parents and staff
  • Is able to work as part of a team
  • Is flexible and proactive
  • Uses their own initiative and manages workload
  • Is a confident communicator face to face, on the phone and via email
  • Sense of humour is a must have! 

Experience is not essential, but will be considered as part of the recruitment process.

Senior Admin Assistant – Salary scale C – term time + 1 week (40 weeks a year)

Hours are 37 hours a week, Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm, or Monday to Friday 8:00am to 4:00pm (with 30 minutes for lunch)

Actual annual salary £22,095 - £23,024 (FTE £25,186- £26,244) depending on experience
