Senior Administration Assistant

Job Introduction

Shepherds Down School require a full time (32.5 Hours, term time only) Senior Administration Assistant. 

 

We are the largest Primary Special School in Hampshire and currently support the learning needs of 198 children and their families. 

In September 2026 we will be bringing on-line a new reception base which will increase our number on roll to 209. 


The children have a wide range of learning difficulties and are supported by over 100 staff and a range of other professionals.


The role will involve greeting visitors, answering the phone, responding to queries, data input, running reports, filing, producing correspondence and acting as the first point of contact for parents, children and visitors.  

  • Some previous experience of Arbor would be an advantage but full training will be given. 
  • Good interpersonal skills with adults and children and good organisational skills are essential, as is a high level of resilience, and an ability to be flexible. 
  • It is essential to have a love of children and the ability to work in a busy and sometimes unpredictable environment.  
  • The role will require you to be trained in first aid. Training will be given if you do not hold a first aid certificate.

Based on a 32.5 hour week, term time only contract you can expect an actual salary of between £19,408 - £20,223 (pay award pending) depending on experience. Working hours will be 8.30am - 3.30pm Monday to Friday, term time only.
